Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has announced that he will officially launch a new political party on August 11 at the ACK Grounds in Saboti, Trans Nzoia County, marking what he describes as the beginning of a long-term political journey towards the 2032 presidential election.
The youthful legislator said the launch will not only introduce the new political outfit to the public but will also see him formally assume its leadership as he seeks to chart an independent political path focused on governance reforms, youth empowerment and national development.
According to Amisi, the party is being established to provide an alternative platform that will champion progressive leadership, accountability and inclusive economic growth while giving young people a greater voice in the country’s political affairs.
He said the August 11 event will bring together grassroots leaders, professionals, youth groups, religious leaders and supporters from across the country, with a strong turnout expected from the Western Kenya region where he has built significant political influence.
Amisi noted that the party’s vision extends beyond the next General Election, saying its long-term objective is to nurture a new generation of leaders capable of transforming Kenya’s political and economic landscape.
The legislator revealed that the formation of the party is the first major milestone in his roadmap towards contesting the presidency in 2032, adding that the movement will begin immediate nationwide recruitment and grassroots mobilization after its official unveiling.
He said the party will prioritize issues affecting ordinary Kenyans, including unemployment, the high cost of living, quality education, accessible healthcare, constitutionalism and transparent leadership.
Political observers view Amisi’s decision as a significant shift in the country’s political landscape, with the move widely interpreted as a departure from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), the party under which he was elected to Parliament.
Throughout his tenure, Amisi has emerged as one of ODM’s most outspoken legislators, frequently commenting on governance, economic policy and constitutional matters while also calling for greater youth participation in national leadership.
His announcement comes at a time when political realignments are gathering pace across the country as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of future electoral contests. Several politicians have either launched new political parties or intensified consultations aimed at strengthening their influence beyond the 2027 General Election.
Analysts believe Amisi’s new political outfit could reshape political dynamics in Western Kenya by attracting young leaders, professionals and independent politicians seeking an alternative political platform outside the established parties.
The launch is also expected to serve as a platform for unveiling the party’s ideology, leadership structure, membership strategy and policy agenda, as well as outlining its plans for participation in future elections.
While Amisi has openly declared his intention to contest the presidency in 2032, he maintained that the immediate focus is on building a strong national party with structures in every county and creating a movement driven by ideas rather than personalities.
The official launch at the ACK Grounds in Saboti is expected to attract political leaders, supporters and observers from across the country as Kenya’s political landscape continues to evolve ahead of the next electoral cycle.
