Daniel Chapo today visited Konza Technopolis, Kenya’s purpose-built technology hub, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in digital innovation and infrastructure.

Konza Technopolis, often referred to as Africa’s “Silicon Savannah,” is a smart city project designed to support the growth of the knowledge economy through digital infrastructure and integrated urban systems.

The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the city’s model of smart urban development, while exploring potential areas of collaboration between Kenya and Mozambique in digital transformation, ICT, and sustainable infrastructure.

Officials said the engagement forms part of broader efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries in technology-driven development.

The State Department for ICT and Digital Economy said the visit highlighted emerging opportunities within Africa’s technology ecosystem and the potential for joint initiatives in smart infrastructure.

The engagement comes amid ongoing discussions on strengthening Kenya–Mozambique relations, particularly in areas of innovation, trade, and digital development.
