AFC Leopards kept their title ambitions alive with a crucial 2-0 victory over Murang’a Seal in a Kenyan Premier League clash played at the iconic Nyayo National Stadium.

After a tightly contested first half that ended goalless, Ingwe came back from the break more aggressive and purposeful. Their efforts paid off in the 55th minute when Ronald Sichenje broke the deadlock, giving Leopards a deserved lead and igniting celebrations among their travelling fans.

Murang’a Seal had a golden opportunity to get back into the match in the 64th minute after Joe Waithera was brought down inside the penalty area, earning his side a penalty. Waithera stepped up to take the spot-kick himself, but his effort was brilliantly saved by AFC Leopards goalkeeper James Ssetuba, who guessed right to deny the hosts a lifeline.

The missed penalty proved costly for Murang’a Seal, as Leopards continued to control the game. Their dominance was sealed in the 82nd minute when Hassan Beja found the back of the net to double Ingwe’s lead and put the result beyond doubt.

The victory sees AFC Leopards climb to 55 points, just two behind league leaders Gor Mahia FC, intensifying the race for the Kenyan Premier League title.

With momentum firmly on their side, Ingwe are now breathing down the necks of their rivals, setting up an exciting finish to the season as the battle for supremacy heats up.
