NAIROBI, KENYA — The government has stepped up preparations to host the Africa Forward Summit 2026, set to take place in Nairobi this May and expected to attract more than 30 Heads of State.
In a high-level coordination meeting, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni held talks with Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs Korir Sing’oei, bringing together multiple government agencies to align planning efforts.
The discussions focused on strengthening health systems and disease surveillance, ensuring safe and high-quality hospitality services, and streamlining travel and logistics for international delegates expected to attend the summit.
Officials emphasized the importance of meeting global standards in hosting such a high-profile event, noting that preparations are being handled through a multi-sectoral approach to guarantee safety, efficiency, and a seamless experience for visitors.
They expressed confidence that Kenya is well-positioned to deliver a successful summit that will enhance regional cooperation, promote innovation, and drive improved health outcomes across the continent.
The upcoming summit is also expected to elevate Kenya’s profile as a key hub for international diplomacy and conferences in Africa.
