AFC Leopards SC boosted their title ambitions in the Kenyan Premier League after securing a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Posta Rangers FC in a thrilling encounter played today at Nyayo National Stadium.
Ingwe started the match on a high note, taking an early lead in the 11th minute when Kelly Madada found the back of the net, sending the Leopards fans into celebration. The pressure continued as Kayci Odhiambo doubled the lead in the 25th minute with a well-taken goal that gave the home side firm control of the match.
Despite trailing by two goals, Posta Rangers FC kept pushing forward and managed to pull one back through Ponda Karisa, setting up a tense contest for the remainder of the game.
Speaking after the match, AFC Leopards head coach Fred Ambani admitted his side struggled to capitalize on their opportunities in the second half.
> “We failed to utilize our chances in the second half and allowed Posta Rangers to dominate possession,” Ambani said during the post-match interview.
However, the coach remained optimistic about the club’s ambitions this season, insisting that their hopes of lifting the league title are still alive.
The victory pushes AFC Leopards to 40 points, placing them just three points behind league leaders Gor Mahia FC in what is shaping up to be a tightly contested title race.
With the season heating up, Ingwe supporters will be hopeful that their team can maintain the momentum and continue closing the gap at the top of the table.
