Hussein Mohammed, President of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), has held a consultative meeting with clubs from the FKF Women Premier League to address challenges facing women’s football in Kenya.
During the meeting, FKF and club representatives held in-depth discussions focused on identifying key issues affecting the women’s game and exploring practical strategies to strengthen the league and improve its overall standards.
“We engaged in an in-depth discussion on the unique challenges affecting women’s football and explored strategies to collectively overcome these hurdles,” said Mohammed.
The FKF President reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to continuous engagement with clubs to create a supportive and sustainable environment for the growth of the women’s game.
“As FKF, we will continue engaging with the clubs to foster a thriving environment for women’s football to flourish,” he added.
Mohammed emphasized that women’s football holds significant growth potential, noting that structured and deliberate efforts are being put in place to unlock opportunities within the sport.
He highlighted key frameworks such as the FKF Women’s Desk and the FKF Women’s Committee as central to driving reforms and supporting development initiatives.
“We will take deliberate actions to find sustainable solutions through established structures to propel women’s football forward,” he stated.
The engagement marks a renewed push by Football Kenya Federation to strengthen women’s football and ensure long-term development through collaboration with stakeholders across the sport. ⚽
