LOS ANGELES, USA — Kenyan fencing star Alexandra Ndolo has delivered a commanding performance at the latest leg of the World Fencing League, further cementing her reputation as one of the sport’s most consistent elite competitors.

Competing in the Women’s Épée category, Ndolo impressed against a stacked international field, securing key victories over top-ranked opponents from France and Italy to advance into the knockout stages of the competition.

Commentators praised her precision and tactical discipline, noting her “unmatched reach and clinical counter-attacks” that kept her competitive throughout the tournament against some of the world’s strongest fencers.

Ndolo, who switched her sporting allegiance to Kenya in recent years, continues to lead African representation in global fencing. She currently holds a world ranking of 15th in Women’s Épée with 82.000 points, making her the highest-ranked African fencer in her category.

Her participation in the World Fencing League marks a historic moment for the sport, which recently launched its inaugural season in Los Angeles with a high-stakes format and a $100,000 grand prize.

Speaking after her final bout, Ndolo emphasized her commitment to representing Kenya on the world stage.

“Every time I step on the piste, I carry the Kenyan flag with me,” she said. “The level of competition here is immense, but it is exactly where we belong.”

Beyond competition, Ndolo has been actively advocating for the growth of fencing in Kenya, calling for improved infrastructure and youth development programs to nurture future talent.

She is expected to continue her international campaign later this year, including appearances at the World Fencing Championships in Tbilisi and the African Fencing Championships, where she will aim to defend her continental title.
