Kenyan singer Willy Paul has spoken candidly about his personal and spiritual struggles, revealing that he feels “lost” after spending several years in the secular music industry and is now considering a return to gospel music.
In an emotional reflection, the artist admitted that despite achieving fame and commercial success, he has been battling an inner emptiness. “I won’t lie, I feel lost,” he said. “I have the numbers, the visibility, but something inside me feels missing.” According to Willy Paul, the fulfillment he once experienced while producing gospel music has been difficult to replace.
He explained that gospel music gave him a strong sense of purpose and direction, something he feels has faded over time. “Back then, I knew why I was doing music. It felt like a calling. That sense of fulfillment is what I miss the most,” he shared.
The singer also opened up about the pressure and criticism that followed his transition to secular music. He noted that while he believed he was making the right decision at the time, reflection has raised difficult questions. “People talked and judged, but I thought I understood my path. Now I ask myself whether I was running away from something or chasing the wrong things,” he said.
Willy Paul described the journey as confusing and emotionally draining, admitting that success does not always equal happiness. “You can gain everything the world offers and still lose yourself. That’s the space I’ve been in,” he added.
While stopping short of confirming a full return to gospel music, the artist revealed that the option is under serious consideration. He said he is praying and seeking clarity on his next move, emphasizing his desire for peace and spiritual reconnection. “I want to reconnect with God and my roots. If gospel music is what will bring me back to myself, then I’m open to it,” he said.
His remarks have sparked wide discussion among fans, with some encouraging him to follow his convictions and others waiting to see what direction his music career will take next.
