The United States Embassy in Kenya has issued a security advisory warning its citizens to remain vigilant ahead of anticipated nationwide demonstrations expected around June 25, marking the anniversary of recent anti-government protests.

The advisory indicates that spontaneous gatherings may occur in major towns across the country, with Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) highlighted as a key area of concern.

According to the embassy, the demonstrations could lead to significant disruptions, including heavy traffic congestion, roadblocks, and increased security operations around sensitive government installations.

It further warns that both protestors and security agencies may establish barriers, making movement in and out of urban centers unpredictable during peak hours.

American citizens and other residents have been advised to avoid large gatherings, political rallies, and protest zones, while also monitoring local media updates for real-time security information. The advisory also encourages individuals to keep communication devices charged and carry valid identification at all times.

Security agencies are expected to maintain heightened presence in key urban locations should demonstrations occur, particularly in Nairobi and other major towns.

The embassy emphasized that citizens should exercise increased caution and rely on official communication channels for safety updates as the situation develops.
