The Tana River County Government has donated 50 mattresses and other essential items to Ngao Girls High School following a fire incident that destroyed students’ property on the night of March 23, 2026.
The donation, made through the office of Governor Dhadho Gaddae Godhana, is part of ongoing support to learners affected by the incident. Other items provided earlier include bathing soap, sanitary towels, bedsheets and dignity kits.
School principal Josephine Njeri said the institution had received the items and acknowledged the support extended to the affected students.
“We appreciate the kind and prompt action taken to support our learners during this difficult time,” she said.
The county government, through Abbas Kunyo, indicated that the assistance was aimed at helping students resume normal school activities following the incident.
Authorities have not yet provided further details on the cause of the fire.
