Senate candidate for the Kilifi County seat in the 2027 General Election, Steven Karisa Kahocho, has extended support to Adu Day Secondary School by donating mattresses to help the institution transition into a boarding school.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Kahocho said the initiative is aimed at improving the learning environment for students by supporting the school’s plan to move from a day-only model to a boarding facility.
“Joined parents and teachers of Adu Secondary School in Magarini for a fruitful engagement. I was encouraged by their shared vision of transitioning the school from a day school to a boarding school in order to create a better learning environment for our children,” Kahocho said.
He emphasized that investing in education is a shared responsibility, noting that strengthening learning institutions benefits not only current students but also future generations.
“As a personal contribution towards this noble initiative, I donated mattresses to support the planned boarding section. Education remains one of the strongest pillars of our community, and it is our collective responsibility to invest in it,” he added.
Kahocho also expressed appreciation to the parents and teachers for their commitment to ensuring quality education, describing their dedication as key to the school’s growth and success.
“I sincerely thank the parents and teachers for the warm reception and the candid discussions. Together, we will continue working to uplift our schools and secure a brighter future for our learners,” he said.
He further underscored the importance of collaboration between leaders, parents, and educators, saying such partnerships are critical in advancing the education sector and improving outcomes for students across Kilifi County.
