William Ruto has launched and commissioned a series of key development projects across Western Kenya, reinforcing the government’s commitment to housing, infrastructure, trade, and youth empowerment.

In Kimilili, Bungoma County, the President laid the foundation stone for an Affordable Housing Project and commissioned the Kimilili Huduma Centre to improve access to government services.

At Ebutani Junction in Khwisero Constituency, Kakamega County, he launched the Last Mile Connectivity Programme aimed at expanding electricity access in rural areas. He also flagged off construction of modern markets in Kakamega and Vihiga counties worth KSh145 million to support small-scale traders.

“Our youth are not voting machines to be mobilized during elections and then forgotten. They are central to our social and economic stability,” President Ruto said.

In Busia County, the government is investing KSh2.5 billion in student hostels to enhance access to affordable training. At Kocholya in Teso North, the President officially opened the KMTC Teso Campus and launched construction of 340-bed capacity hostels.

He also handed over the Amagoro ESP Market to traders, providing a modern and organized working space to boost small businesses.

As part of efforts to promote sports, Ruto broke ground for the KSh900 million Busia Stadium, a 10,000-seater FIFA-standard facility aimed at nurturing talent and strengthening Kenya’s sporting profile.

The President further inspected the Nangina Affordable Housing Project in Funyula Constituency, noting that delays had been resolved and completion is expected within six months.

Additionally, he launched the construction of the 15km Matayos–Nangina and Nangina–Sio Port–Mumbaka roads at a cost of KSh773 million, improving connectivity and boosting trade in the region.

The series of projects highlights the government’s broader agenda to stimulate economic growth, empower communities, and expand opportunities across Kenya.
