William Ruto on March 26 held talks with Ernest Kan at State House, Nairobi, during a meeting that focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Kenya and Singapore.
According to the President, Kenya and Singapore continue to maintain close diplomatic ties, with cooperation spanning trade, investment, infrastructure, logistics, digital transformation and human capital development.
“Kenya maintains a close and mutually beneficial diplomatic relationship with Singapore,” Ruto said.
He noted that Kenya continues to draw lessons from Singapore’s development experience, particularly in industrialisation, as the country pursues its economic growth agenda.
“Singapore holds a special place in our national development journey, especially in areas such as rapid industrialisation,” he said.
The meeting comes ahead of the planned commemoration of 35 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Ernest Kan delivered a message from Tharman Shanmugaratnam in preparation for the anniversary, which is expected to highlight areas of continued cooperation between Nairobi and Singapore.
Officials said the engagement is part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to deepen partnerships in key sectors aligned with both countries’ development priorities.
