President William Ruto has joined leaders, alumni and students in celebrating 100 years of excellence at Kapsabet Boys High School during the institution’s centenary celebrations held in Nandi County.

Speaking at the event, President Ruto praised the school’s long-standing legacy of producing leaders and professionals who have contributed significantly to national development.

“We celebrate 100 years of Kapsabet Boys School’s rich legacy of nurturing men of integrity, purpose and ambition,” President Ruto said.

The President noted that the historic institution is among the oldest centres of academic excellence in the country and has produced two of Kenya’s five Presidents, alongside thousands of professionals serving in various sectors.

To ensure more students benefit from the school’s tradition of excellence, the government committed to expanding the institution’s infrastructure.

The planned developments include the construction of a modern science complex, 40 additional classrooms, and a new hostel with a capacity of 1,000 beds.

President Ruto also announced that 20 teachers currently employed by the school’s Board of Management will be absorbed by the Teachers Service Commission, a move aimed at strengthening teaching capacity at the institution.

The announcements were made during the centenary celebrations of Kapsabet Boys High School, an event that brought together government officials, alumni and members of the education community to mark the milestone.
