William Ruto has handed over keys to more than 200 beneficiaries of the Affordable Housing Project in Milimani Estate, Kakamega Town, marking a major milestone in the government’s housing agenda.

During the event, the President also laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the project, which will deliver 1,891 housing units at a cost of KSh5.2 billion.

“We continue to prove the naysayers wrong as the results of our programmes become clear. The change we promised is no longer a distant dream; it is happening now,” said President Ruto.

The Affordable Housing initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to expand access to decent housing while also creating employment opportunities, especially for young people.

The second phase is expected to further boost local economic activity through job creation in construction and related sectors, as well as improve living standards for residents in Kakamega County.

Government officials say the project reflects ongoing efforts to deliver on key development promises and improve livelihoods across Kenya.
