William Ruto has outlined major government investments in healthcare and infrastructure during a development tour of Migori County, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving service delivery and livelihoods.
Speaking during the visit, the President noted that “over the past year, we have invested KSh2.4 billion in strengthening health facilities in Migori County,” emphasizing the government’s goal of ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all Kenyans.
In Uriri Constituency, Ruto officially commissioned the Piny-Owacho Level 3 Hospital, assuring residents that “we will ensure the facility is fully equipped with adequate medical supplies and staffed with qualified personnel to serve the community effectively.”
The President also commissioned the 60-unit Mabera Affordable Housing Project in Kuria West Constituency, aimed at providing modern and dignified housing for residents.
Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the Mabera Modern Market, a KSh372 million project expected to accommodate more than 1,000 traders and stimulate local economic activity.
In Kuria East Constituency, Ruto inspected ongoing construction works at Kegonga Sub-County Hospital, a KSh345 million project designed to improve access to quality healthcare services.
To further support the health sector, he announced that “we will invest KSh150 million towards the construction of hostels at Kegonga KMTC,” to enhance training and accommodation for healthcare students.
The President also revealed plans to boost trade in the area, stating that “we will also build a KSh200 million modern market to support local businesses and drive economic growth in Kegonga town.”
The projects form part of the government’s broader strategy to expand healthcare access, create jobs, and strengthen local economies across the country.
