Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Dr. Raymond Omollo on Sunday attended a church service at St. Pascal’s Chiga Catholic Sub-Parish Centre in Homa Bay Town Constituency, where he joined political, religious and community leaders in a gathering that emphasized national unity, peaceful coexistence and grassroots development.
The service brought together several prominent leaders, including Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga, a veteran Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, who also serves as the ODM National Chairperson.
Dr. Omollo’s visit to Homa Bay comes as part of his ongoing tour of the Nyanza region, where he has been engaging residents and local leaders on government programmes aimed at improving service delivery, strengthening national cohesion and enhancing grassroots administration.
The church service followed the Principal Secretary’s visit to Mutumbu Seventh-day Adventist Church in Siaya County on Saturday, where he outlined the government’s commitment to bringing public services closer to citizens through the operationalization of more than 1,800 new administrative units, including 74 new sub-counties across the country.
He said the initiative is intended to improve access to essential government services, strengthen security coordination and ensure faster response to the needs of local communities.
Dr. Omollo also reiterated the government’s call for political tolerance, urging leaders and citizens to avoid divisive politics as the country gradually heads towards the 2027 General Election.
He encouraged Kenyans to evaluate leaders based on their record of development, integrity and public service rather than political rhetoric, noting that peaceful coexistence remains critical to the country’s progress.
The Principal Secretary further emphasized the importance of collaboration between government institutions, religious organizations and county leadership in promoting unity and fostering inclusive development across the country.
The presence of senior ODM leaders, including Senator Oburu Oginga and Governor Gladys Wanga, highlighted the importance of intergovernmental cooperation and engagement across political affiliations in addressing issues affecting local communities.
Religious leaders at the service also urged political leaders to embrace dialogue, peace and mutual respect while supporting development initiatives that improve the livelihoods of wananchi.
Dr. Omollo’s Nyanza tour is expected to continue with engagements aimed at strengthening government service delivery, promoting national cohesion and supporting ongoing development programmes in the region.
