Posta Rangers FC ended their long winless streak with an impressive 2-0 victory over defending champions Kenya Police FC in a FKF Premier League match played at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani Annex in Nairobi.

The victory marked a major turnaround for Posta Rangers, who had gone 11 matches without a win and entered the match placed 13th on the league table with 25 points from 23 games.

Coming into the match, Kenya Police were considered favourites as they sat fifth with 37 points and were hoping to secure a third consecutive win to strengthen their position in the title race.

However, Posta Rangers started the match on a strong note and quickly took control of the game.

Forward Jackson Macharia opened the scoring in the 7th minute, finishing calmly to give the hosts an early 1-0 lead. The goal energized the home side and helped them head into halftime with the advantage.

Kenya Police pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but Posta Rangers maintained a disciplined defensive performance to keep their opponents at bay.

Substitute Dinken Mwema later sealed the victory in the 79th minute, scoring the second goal to secure a memorable 2-0 win for the Mailmen.

The result ends Posta Rangers’ difficult run of form and boosts their hopes of climbing away from the relegation zone in the league standings.

For Kenya Police, the defeat deals a setback to their ambitions of defending the league title, forcing them to regroup ahead of their upcoming fixtures.

With several matches still remaining in the season, the outcome adds new momentum to Posta Rangers’ survival campaign while intensifying competition in the FKF Premier League table.
