Nairobi, Kenya – Ol Kalou Member of Parliament David Njuguna Kiaraho has died while undergoing treatment at The Nairobi Hospital.
Moses Wetangula confirmed the legislator’s death in a statement issued on Sunday morning, indicating that he passed away at around 1:20 a.m.
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the untimely passing of Hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho. He was a dedicated servant of the people of Ol Kalou and a distinguished member of this House,” Wetangula said.
William Ruto led leaders in mourning, describing the late MP as a “humble, steadfast, and visionary leader.”
Kiaraho, who was serving his third consecutive term, was first elected to Parliament in 2013. In the 2022 General Election, he retained his seat on a Jubilee Party ticket. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Departmental Committee on Transport and Infrastructure.
Outside politics, he was a trained architect and founder of Archgrid Systems.
A funeral committee has been formed to coordinate burial arrangements, led by Kwenya Thuku and Faith Gitau.
Leaders across the political divide have continued to send messages of condolence as the country mourns the loss of the legislator.
