NJERI MAINA ACCUSES MALALA OF SECRET PLOT AGAINST GACHAGUA ALLIES

Njeri Maina, the Woman Representative for Kirinyaga County, has accused Cleophas Malala, the Deputy Party Leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), of allegedly working with government-aligned leaders to undermine supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in the county.

According to Maina, Malala held a closed-door meeting with several Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) allied to Anne Waiguru at Golden Palm Hotel Kenol on Wednesday night. She claimed the meeting reportedly took place between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Maina alleged that the meeting was aimed at forming a splinter political faction intended to counter leaders and grassroots supporters aligned with Gachagua in Kirinyaga.

“I am aware that yesterday you met a section of MCAs allied to Governor Anne Waiguru at Golden Palm Kenol. The agenda was to create a splinter group to fight H.E. Rigathi Gachagua’s foot soldiers in the county. You have now crossed the Rubicon,” Maina said.

The Kirinyaga Woman Representative further accused Malala of betraying leaders who have been working closely with Gachagua, warning that such actions could deepen divisions within the region’s political leadership.

However, Cleophas Malala had not publicly responded to the allegations by the time of publication.

The claims come amid growing political tensions in Kirinyaga County, as rival factions continue positioning themselves ahead of future political realignments in the region.
