The Linda Mwananchi political movement led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has confirmed that it will hold a series of grassroots rallies in Kisii and Nyamira counties on Friday, June 26, as part of its nationwide mobilization campaign ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to regional updates, the delegation will be hosted by a number of prominent Gusii leaders, including Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Ombane Gisairo, Bomachoge Chache MP Obadiah Barongo, and Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi.
The visit to the Gusii region had initially been postponed following the death of Senator Onyonka’s mother. In the meantime, the movement proceeded with political engagements in Machakos, Meru, and Thika, where it held a major rally at Kivulini Grounds before rescheduling the South Nyanza tour.
The Linda Mwananchi movement, which brings together leaders such as Siaya Governor James Orengo, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, has been conducting rallies across the country to rally support around governance reforms and concerns over the high cost of living.
The movement is also seeking to lay the groundwork for a united political platform that will field a presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.
Organizers say the June 26 rallies will coincide with wider political activities and civic mobilization campaigns planned across various parts of the country later in the month.
