The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury, John Mbadi, on Sunday joined William Ruto and other leaders at Agoro Sare High School in Kasipul Constituency for an interdenominational prayer service that brought together faithful from different religious backgrounds.

The event highlighted the importance of unity, reflection, and shared national values, with leaders emphasizing the role of collective prayer in fostering harmony and national cohesion.

Speaking during the gathering, Mbadi underscored the need for unity while also expressing confidence in the region’s political future. He stated that “when Ruto is exiting, this region must produce the next president of Kenya, and we will give you the right people with the right qualifications and right competence.”

Meanwhile, Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang referenced the legacy of the late Raila Odinga while commenting on the country’s current development path.

Kajwang noted that “President Ruto is doing exactly what the late Raila Odinga would have done if he was the president,” adding that projects such as the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway, efforts to revive Kenya Airways, and reforms in the sugar sector mirror policies long associated with Odinga’s vision.

The remarks come amid ongoing national conversations around development, unity, and leadership transition, as political leaders continue to position themselves ahead of the next general election cycle.
