The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) TVET and Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) application window officially closes today, Monday, June 8, 2026, with thousands of applicants expected to rush against the midnight deadline to secure placement opportunities.

The portal will be locked at exactly 11:59 p.m., marking the end of the national application cycle for Technical and Vocational Education and Training programmes as well as KMTC courses for the 2026/2027 placement intake.

The exercise targets the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates alongside earlier Form Four leavers from as far back as the year 2000 who have never previously been placed. The cohort is eligible to apply for artisan certificates, craft certificates, and diploma programmes across accredited public TVET institutions and KMTC campuses nationwide.

In a public advisory circulated through The Star, KUCCPS urged eligible candidates to take advantage of the remaining hours, emphasizing the growing importance of technical skills in the job market.

“In today’s workplace, technical and vocational skills make all the difference. Start your journey to acquiring the right skills by applying for TVET programmes through the KUCCPS system,” the agency stated.

With the deadline now in its final hours, cyber cafés and Huduma Centres across the country are expected to experience increased traffic as applicants attempt last-minute submissions and corrections. KUCCPS has maintained that no further extensions will be granted once the portal closes.

The placement agency has also outlined the step-by-step application process, requiring candidates to log into the KUCCPS Student Portal using their KCSE index number, examination year, and password before selecting preferred programmes and submitting choices in order of priority. Payments are processed through the eCitizen platform.

Applicants experiencing technical challenges have been advised to seek assistance at Huduma Centres, where dedicated KUCCPS desks are available to support last-minute submissions before the system shuts down.

Following the closure of the application window, KUCCPS is expected to begin final processing of placements, with results for the 2026/2027 intake anticipated to be released in July 2026.

Education stakeholders have urged applicants to act swiftly, warning that failure to submit within the deadline will automatically lock out eligible candidates from the current placement cycle.
