The family of Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director William Ruto has announced that his daughter, Mitchell Jelimo Kemboi, will be laid to rest on Friday, April 10.
The burial ceremony is set to take place at the family’s home in Kabarak, Nakuru County, following her tragic death in a road accident.
Mitchell lost her life on the evening of April 3, 2026, after the vehicle she was traveling in was involved in a crash along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway in Taita Taveta County. Reports indicate that the car, driven by her father, collided with a stationary trailer.
While she succumbed to her injuries, Captain Ruto and other family members survived the accident. They were initially taken to a hospital in Voi before being airlifted to Mombasa for specialized treatment, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
The incident has drawn an outpouring of condolences from friends, colleagues, and government officials, who have continued to stand with the family during this period of grief.
The burial is expected to bring together family, friends, and leaders to pay their final respects to the young life lost in the tragic accident.
