President William Ruto on Thursday, March 26, met with UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell at State House, Nairobi, to discuss ongoing collaboration between Kenya and the United Nations.
The discussions centered on advancing programs in education and healthcare, including the transition to the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) system and initiatives aimed at reducing maternal mortality and improving learning outcomes.
“Through our partnership with the United Nations, agencies such as UNICEF have played a central role in shaping education reforms while supporting health interventions across the country,” President Ruto said.
He added that Kenya values the strong partnership built over the past 60 years, which has positioned Nairobi as a global UN hub alongside New York, Geneva, and Vienna.
Officials noted that the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration that delivers measurable results for the people of Kenya.
