DALLAS, USA — The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Washington, D.C. has rolled out a three-day Mobile Consular Services outreach program in Dallas, aimed at improving access to government services for Kenyans living in the southern United States.
The initiative, which runs from April 27 to April 29, has attracted a high turnout of Kenyan citizens from across Texas and neighboring states, underscoring the growing demand for accessible consular services outside traditional embassy locations.
By decentralizing services, the Embassy is seeking to ease the financial and logistical burden on Kenyans who would otherwise travel long distances to Washington, D.C., or Los Angeles for documentation.
“This outreach reflects our broader strategic focus on deepening engagement with the diaspora and ensuring timely, efficient, and accessible services,” the Embassy said in a statement, emphasizing the diaspora’s key role in national development.
The mobile clinic is being hosted at the Richardson Church of the Nazarene, where officials are offering a range of on-site services including e-passport processing, National ID applications, birth certificate services, document certification, and dual citizenship consultations.
To manage demand, the Embassy has implemented a biometric appointment system, requiring individuals to book slots in advance. However, officials have encouraged Kenyans in the region to visit the site for information and assistance on available services.
Applicants seeking passport renewal are required to complete their application via the eCitizen portal prior to their appointment and present printed forms, payment invoices, identification documents, passport photos, and a prepaid return envelope.
Special provisions have also been outlined for minors, dual citizens, and individuals replacing lost or damaged passports, each requiring additional documentation.
The Dallas outreach is part of a broader series of mobile consular programs designed to strengthen ties with the diaspora and enhance their participation in Kenya’s socio-economic transformation.
