Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed speculation of divisions within the United Alternative Government coalition, saying his decision not to invite fellow co-principals to the unveiling of his 13-point presidential agenda was a deliberate strategic move rather than a sign of disunity.

Speaking on Saturday, June 6, during the launch of his policy platform, Kalonzo said he had considered inviting his colleagues, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, but decided to first establish his individual vision before embarking on joint coalition engagements.

“I debated whether to invite my co-principals, but I decided that each one of us should first present our own flagship agenda before we come together as a coalition,” Kalonzo said.

He emphasized that the process of strengthening individual political identities should not be interpreted as cracks within the opposition alliance.

According to Kalonzo, the coalition remains united and committed to offering Kenyans an alternative leadership platform ahead of the 2027 General Election.

“Those hoping for divisions within our team will be disappointed. We have a wonderful team and we remain fully committed to working together,” he said.

The Wiper leader further accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of banking on a split within the opposition, insisting that unity among opposition leaders would deny President William Ruto a second term.

“The hope of Kenya Kwanza is that we split. That is their only hope, but we are united and together we shall ensure President Ruto becomes a one-term president,” he said.

Kalonzo maintained that the United Alternative Government coalition remains focused on presenting a common agenda to Kenyans and dismissed suggestions that individual political activities by its principals signal fragmentation.

His remarks come amid heightened political activity and ongoing consultations among opposition leaders as they position themselves for the 2027 presidential race.
