Kenyan businessman and politician Zedekiah “Buzeki” Bundotich is facing mounting legal and financial challenges after I&M Bank filed a case in court seeking to recover Sh864 million in unpaid truck loans.
Court documents indicate that the bank is pursuing repayment of funds advanced to support Bundotich’s logistics operations, specifically financing the expansion of his truck fleet. The loans were intended to grow his transport business, which has expanded significantly over the years.
Bundotich’s journey to prominence has been marked by determination and ambition. Rising from humble beginnings—once selling milk on the streets—he built a logistics empire operating across the region. His success in business later propelled him into politics, making him a well-known public figure.
The latest court action, however, points to increasing financial pressure on his company, highlighting the risks associated with asset-backed expansion in the transport sector.
