MTITO ANDEI, Kenya — A body was discovered in Mtito Andei, Kibwezi Sub-County, in a suspected homicide incident that has prompted investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The discovery was made after a herder grazing goats in the area noticed distinct blood stains on the ground. The herder followed the trail, which led to a nearby water well where the body was found.
The incident was immediately reported to authorities, who quickly moved to secure the scene and launch investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.
DCI detectives have since taken over the case and are treating the incident as a homicide as they work to establish what led to the killing and identify those responsible.
The body was removed from the scene for post-mortem examination as part of ongoing investigative procedures.
Residents of the area expressed shock at the discovery, noting that the locality is generally peaceful and rarely experiences violent crime.
Authorities have urged anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward as efforts to unravel the incident continue.
