Anti-riot police have been heavily deployed across Eldoret City in Uasin Gishu County ahead of anticipated Gen Z anniversary protests, with security agencies taking control of key installations and major public spaces in what officials describe as a preventive security operation aimed at safeguarding public order and protecting critical infrastructure.
Security agencies say the deployment follows intelligence reports indicating possible protest flashpoints within the rapidly growing urban centre, prompting a coordinated multi-agency response across the city and surrounding suburbs.
