The Kenya national football team are set to face Grenada national football team this afternoon in a third-place playoff match of the inaugural FIFA Series in Rwanda.

The match, scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM EAT, will be played at Amahoro Stadium and marks the first-ever meeting between the two nations.

Both teams head into the fixture seeking to bounce back from disappointing results in their opening matches. Kenya lost to Estonia national football team 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, while Grenada suffered a 4-0 defeat to hosts Rwanda national football team.

Head coach Benni McCarthy is expected to rotate his squad, although winger Job Ochieng will miss the match due to a minor injury sustained in training.

“We showed great character to come back against Estonia. Today is about finishing our chances and ending this window on a high,” McCarthy said.

Attention will be on striker Ryan Ogam, who scored in the previous match and is expected to lead the attack.

Kenya is likely to adopt a 4-2-3-1 formation focused on possession and high pressing, while Grenada is expected to deploy a more defensive setup, relying on physicality and counter-attacks.

The outcome is expected to hinge on midfield control, with Kenya aiming to dominate possession and Grenada seeking to disrupt play and capitalize on direct attacks.

The match will be broadcast live on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation Channel 1 and Azam Sports.
