The Kenya national football team secured a 3-0 victory over Grenada national football team in the third-place playoff of the FIFA Series at Stade Amahoro in Kigali, Rwanda.

The win marks a strong finish for Harambee Stars, ending a four-match winless run and handing head coach Benni McCarthy a morale boost.

Kenya took early control of the match, with Austine Odhiambo opening the scoring in the 13th minute after reacting to a rebound from a shot by Ryan Ogam.

Ogam extended the lead five minutes later, finishing from close range following a well-worked corner involving Ben Stanley Omondi.

Zech Obiero sealed the victory in the 81st minute with a deflected strike, assisted by Will Wilson.

Goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo made a key save early in the second half to deny Grenada, helping Kenya maintain a clean sheet. Substitute goalkeeper Brian Bwire also featured in the closing stages as part of squad rotation.

Coach McCarthy made several tactical changes during the match, giving playing time to multiple squad members.

The result reflects improved attacking efficiency and defensive organisation following Kenya’s earlier penalty shootout loss to Estonia national football team.

Harambee Stars conclude the tournament in third place and will now shift focus to upcoming competitive fixtures.
