Njoroge Kibugu has been awarded KSh5 million by the government in recognition of his outstanding performance at the Magical Kenya Open (MKO) held in February.

The reward fulfills a pledge made by William Ruto during the tournament’s award ceremony at Karen Country Golf Club on February 22.

The cheque was presented on Tuesday at Talanta Plaza in Nairobi by Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Salim Mvurya.

The ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary for Sports Elijah Mwangi, Kenya Golf Union President Philip Ochola, and Patrick Obath of Kenya Open Golf Limited.

The award underscores the government’s commitment to recognizing and supporting Kenyan athletes who excel on the global stage.
