AFC Leopards (Ingwe) secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Nairobi United in a rescheduled FKF Premier League Round 19 clash at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

The match, played under bright afternoon conditions, saw Ingwe dominate early proceedings in front of a strong home crowd.

The decisive moment came in the 13th minute, when Samuel Ssenyonjo finished from close range after a well-worked move initiated by Tyson Otieno.

The early strike proved enough as Leopards held firm for the remainder of the match to secure all three points.

However, the win came with a setback after goalkeeper Humphrey Katasi was forced off in the 60th minute with a suspected recurrence of a hamstring injury. Head coach Fred Ambani was forced into changes to protect the narrow lead.

Despite the defeat, Nairobi United showed resilience in only their debut top-flight season. Benson Omala and his brother Duncan Omala threatened on the counter, while Kevin Wangaya controlled play in midfield.

The visitors enjoyed more possession in the second half but lacked the cutting edge to find an equaliser.

Nairobi United remain on 33 points in 9th place after 22 matches, ending a four-game unbeaten run but continuing to impress in their debut season.

The victory lifts AFC Leopards to 46 points, keeping them firmly in the title race with nine matches remaining.
