KWALE, KENYA — Bandari FC return to Kenyan Premier League action this afternoon as they host an in-form APS Bomet FC at Kwale Stadium, seeking an immediate response following their painful FKF Cup exit earlier this week.

The Round 32 league fixture, set for a 2:00 PM kick-off, comes just days after the Dockers suffered a heartbreaking penalty shootout defeat to Kenya Police FC, crashing out of the domestic cup competition 5-3 on penalties.

Bandari head into the clash aiming to revive their campaign and improve their position in the league standings after struggling for consistency in recent weeks.

Currently placed 10th in the Kenyan Premier League table, head coach Ken Odhiambo faces the difficult task of rebuilding confidence within his squad following the emotionally draining cup defeat.

The coastal side will also be eager to settle scores after losing the reverse fixture against APS Bomet, who secured a narrow 1-0 victory when the two sides met in December.

However, Bandari face a difficult test against one of the league’s most improved sides in recent weeks.

APS Bomet travel to Kwale riding high on confidence after putting together an impressive five-match winning streak that has significantly boosted their survival hopes.

The visitors, currently positioned 13th on the table, come into the match fresh from a convincing 2-0 victory over Mathare United and will be eyeing another positive result to move closer to the top half of the standings.

A win for APS Bomet would further ease relegation concerns while strengthening their growing reputation as one of the division’s most dangerous late-season teams.

Bandari are expected to welcome back several key defensive players who were rested during the FKF Cup encounter, with the technical bench hoping to contain an APS attack that has scored nine goals in their last five matches.

With humid coastal conditions expected at Kwale Stadium, physical endurance and midfield control are likely to play a major role in determining the outcome of what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.

Both teams head into the fixture with plenty at stake as the race for league positioning intensifies heading into the final stretch of the season.
