Bandari FC and Nairobi United played out an entertaining 1–1 draw in an FKF Premier League clash at Mbaraki Sports Club on Tuesday evening.

The Game Week 22 encounter saw both sides display resilience and tactical discipline, sharing the points in a match that could easily have swung either way. Bandari, who came into the game sixth with 31 points from 21 matches, moved to 32 points after 22 games. Nairobi United, ninth before kickoff with 28 points from 18 matches, advanced to 29 points from 19 outings.

Bandari, known for their strong home performances at the Coast, were seeking consistency after mixed recent results. Nairobi United, nicknamed the NaiBois, arrived eager to build momentum despite a challenging run away from home—and they showed early intent.

The visitors struck first in the 22nd minute when Benson Omala finished off a well-worked attacking move to give Nairobi United the lead, rewarding their bright start.

Bandari responded almost immediately. Just six minutes later, Amza Moubarack calmly slotted home the equaliser in the 28th minute, igniting celebrations among the home supporters. The remainder of the first half was tightly contested, with both defences holding firm to keep the score level at the break.

The match was a repeat of the teams’ November 4, 2025 meeting, where Nairobi United had claimed a 3–1 win. This time, Bandari’s home advantage ensured they avoided defeat, although neither side managed to find a decisive second goal despite several second-half opportunities.

Bandari made attacking substitutions in the 69th minute, introducing Hamisi Mwaphalu, William Wadri, and Brian Otieno to inject fresh energy. Nairobi United absorbed the pressure well, maintaining their shape and composure. The contest ended without red cards or major injuries, reflecting a competitive but disciplined affair.

In midfield, Kevin Wangaya impressed for Nairobi United with his composure and creativity, while Moubarack’s equaliser proved pivotal for Bandari. Fans on social media largely agreed the draw was a fair outcome, with Bandari’s official account posting: “Nothing to separate the two teams, we share the spoils.”

The result keeps both clubs firmly in the mid-table mix as the FKF Premier League season continues. Bandari will look to maximise their home advantage in upcoming fixtures, while Nairobi United aim to strengthen their away form in the weeks ahead.
