NAIROBI, KENYA — President William Ruto on Sunday is hosting thousands of Akorino faithful at State House, Nairobi, for an Akorino Israel Thanksgiving Service currently underway at the State House Mabati Chapel.

The service, marked by colourful worship and strong attendance, has drawn members of the Akorino Church from across the country for a national thanksgiving gathering focused on prayer, unity, and the role of faith-based organisations in national development.

The event is being held at the State House Nairobi Mabati Chapel, a structure linked to a previous commitment by the President to provide a dedicated space for worship within State House grounds.

President Ruto is accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki alongside other senior government officials and invited religious leaders.

The service is ongoing, with congregants engaging in worship, prayers, and thanksgiving sessions. The President is expected to address the gathering later, with attention focused on messages touching on national unity, moral leadership, and socio-economic development.

Church leaders have highlighted the Akorino Church’s growing role in community development initiatives, including SACCO-based economic empowerment programmes aimed at improving livelihoods among members across the country.
