President William Ruto has emphasized that inclusive governance and equitable distribution of resources remain key pillars in building a united and prosperous nation.
Speaking during a meeting with 40 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from Kitui County at State House, Nairobi, the Head of State said the government is working with leaders from across the country to ensure development reaches all regions.
“The bedrock of a united nation is inclusive governance and the equitable distribution of resources across all parts of the country,” President Ruto said. “To achieve this, we are working with leaders from all over Kenya to ensure that no citizen and no region is left behind as we advance our national transformation agenda.”
The delegation from Kitui County was led by County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya. During the meeting, the leaders discussed ways to fast-track priority development projects and programmes within the county.
Among the key issues discussed were the construction and rehabilitation of dams to address water shortages, improvement of key roads to enhance accessibility, and the development of affordable housing projects.
Other priorities highlighted during the meeting included the establishment of modern markets and student hostels, expansion of the last-mile electricity connectivity programme, and the issuance of title deeds to resolve land ownership challenges affecting residents.
The meeting forms part of ongoing consultations between the national government and county leaders aimed at accelerating development and improving service delivery across the country.
