President William Ruto has expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of construction works at the Bomas International Convention Complex, describing it as a flagship project set to position and cement Nairobi as Africa’s premier hub for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).
Speaking during an inspection of the site, President Ruto said, “I am pleased with the steady construction progress at Bomas International Convention Complex; this is a landmark project that will strengthen Kenya’s global standing in tourism and international conferencing.”
He highlighted that the modern facility is designed to host thousands of delegates and will be complemented by three hotels, a shopping mall, and an amphitheatre, creating a fully integrated destination for global events and business tourism.
“Once complete, the complex will accommodate 11,000 delegates across 35 meeting halls and rooms, with the main conference hall hosting 3,000 participants,” he added, praising the workforce on site. “More than 2,500 workers are currently on site working around the clock. Your dedication is driving this transformative project forward.”
President Ruto emphasized that the Bomas complex will not only redefine Nairobi’s conferencing capabilities but also bolster Kenya’s position as a leading destination for international business and events.
