Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi is expected to tour Trans Nzoia County, where he will inspect the ongoing construction of the Kiminini Modern Market, hold consultative meetings with political and community leaders from Trans Nzoia and the wider Western Kenya region, and preside over a fundraiser for Community Health Promoters.

Mudavadi’s visit is aimed at assessing the progress of key government development projects while strengthening engagement with regional leaders on issues of economic growth, service delivery and implementation of national development programmes.

A key highlight of the tour will be an inspection of the Kiminini Modern Market, one of the government’s flagship infrastructure projects designed to improve trading conditions for small-scale entrepreneurs and expand market access for farmers and local businesses. The facility is expected to provide modern trading spaces, improved sanitation, storage facilities and enhanced security, supporting efforts to boost commerce within the county.

Following the inspection, the Prime Cabinet Secretary will convene a consultative meeting with leaders drawn from Trans Nzoia County and the broader Western Kenya region. The discussions are expected to focus on regional development priorities, implementation of national government projects, infrastructure expansion, agricultural productivity and measures aimed at improving livelihoods across the region.

Mudavadi is also scheduled to preside over a fundraising event for Trans Nzoia County Community Health Promoters at the Kitale Showground. The initiative seeks to mobilize resources to strengthen community-based healthcare services and support the work of frontline health promoters, who play a critical role in disease prevention, health education, maternal and child healthcare, and early referral of patients to health facilities.

The fundraiser is expected to bring together national and county government officials, elected leaders, healthcare stakeholders, development partners and members of the public in support of strengthening primary healthcare services within the county.

The visit comes as the government continues implementing development projects across the country under its Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, with increased emphasis on modern market infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and regional economic empowerment.

Mudavadi’s engagements in Trans Nzoia are also expected to provide an opportunity for local leaders to present development priorities and discuss strategies for accelerating the implementation of ongoing national government projects in the county.
