Liverpool FC has confirmed that Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the end of the 2025–26 season, bringing to a close a nine-year spell at Anfield.

The 33-year-old forward, who joined from AS Roma in 2017, announced his decision in a video shared on social media, where he thanked the club, teammates and supporters.

In a statement, Salah said his time at Liverpool had been the most significant period of his career, adding that his connection with the club would remain beyond his departure.

Liverpool said the decision was reached mutually and disclosed ahead of time to allow supporters to prepare for his exit.

Salah leaves as one of the club’s most prolific players, having scored 255 goals in 435 appearances making him the third-highest scorer in Liverpool’s history.

During his time at Anfield, he won multiple honours, including two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League, as well as domestic cup competitions and individual accolades such as the Golden Boot.

He played under former manager Jürgen Klopp and current head coach Arne Slot, becoming a central figure in the club’s recent successes.

Reports indicate that Salah could consider moves to leagues in Saudi Arabia or the United States, although no official announcement has been made regarding his next destination.

Liverpool said plans are underway to mark his departure, with further details expected before the end of the season.
