National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has dismissed criticism surrounding the recent appointments, insisting that all successful candidates were selected through a rigorous, competitive, and transparent recruitment process conducted by an independent panel of experts.
Speaking amid public scrutiny over the appointments, Mbadi maintained that the selection exercise adhered to the law and was guided by the principles of merit, integrity, and professionalism. He said the government was committed to ensuring that only qualified individuals were appointed to serve in key public positions.
According to the Cabinet Secretary, the recruitment process involved a comprehensive evaluation of applicants by a high-level panel of experts tasked with identifying candidates who possessed the necessary qualifications, experience, and competence required for the positions.
“The successful candidates emerged from a rigorous and transparent recruitment process conducted by a high-level panel of experts,” Mbadi said.
He dismissed claims that the appointments were influenced by political considerations or favoritism, stressing that every stage of the recruitment process was carried out in accordance with established legal and administrative procedures.
Mbadi further noted that the government remains committed to strengthening public institutions by appointing individuals capable of delivering on their respective mandates while upholding the highest standards of accountability and public service.
The Cabinet Secretary urged the public to have confidence in the recruitment process, emphasizing that transparency and merit remain central to government appointments. He added that the selected officials are expected to discharge their duties professionally and contribute to the effective implementation of government programmes.
His remarks come amid growing public interest in recent appointments to key state institutions, with sections of stakeholders calling for greater transparency and accountability in public recruitment processes.
