MOMBASA, KENYA – Family, friends, and leaders gathered at CITAM Church Nyali for a requiem mass in honor of Michelle Jellio Kemboi.

Michelle, the beloved daughter of Kenya Ports Authority Director William Ruto, tragically lost her life following a road accident, leaving family and friends in deep mourning.

Her body was earlier moved from Pandya Hospital mortuary to the church, where mourners paid their last respects and offered prayers during an emotional service attended by leaders and members of the public.

Among those present were Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and Amina Mnyazi, who joined the family in mourning and offering support.

“This is a deeply painful loss not only to the family but to all of us as a community. May the family find strength in unity and comfort in the love and support surrounding them during this difficult time.”

Religious leaders presiding over the service called for unity and urged road users to exercise caution to help prevent further tragedies.

Family members and close friends described Michelle as a vibrant young woman full of promise, noting that her passing has left a significant void.

According to the funeral programme, a second requiem mass will be held on April 9 in Eldama Ravine, ahead of her burial scheduled for April 10 at the family’s rural home in Nakuru County.

The Mombasa community continues to stand with the bereaved family, sending messages of condolence and support during this difficult period.
