League leaders Gor Mahia F.C. salvaged a dramatic late draw against Posta Rangers F.C. in a tightly contested Kenyan Premier League Matchday 23 clash played at Nyayo National Stadium on Thursday.

Posta Rangers made a dream start to the match, taking the lead just seven minutes after kickoff. Midfielder Jackson Macharia found the back of the net early, stunning the league leaders and putting the Mailmen ahead.

Gor Mahia pushed hard throughout the match in search of an equalizer, creating several chances but struggling to break down Posta Rangers’ determined defense. As the match appeared to be heading for a narrow Posta Rangers victory, Gor Mahia finally found the breakthrough deep into stoppage time.

The reigning champions scored a dramatic equalizer in the 90th minute to secure a 1-1 draw and rescue a crucial point.

Despite dropping two points, Gor Mahia remain at the top of the league standings with 50 points, maintaining their lead in the title race. Posta Rangers, on the other hand, sit in 13th place with 25 points, continuing their fight to climb away from the lower half of the table.

Looking ahead, Posta Rangers will return to action on March 13, where they are set to face Kenya Police F.C. in their next league fixture. Gor Mahia will first shift focus to the Mozzart Bet Cup, where they are scheduled to play BB Bread F.C. on March 8 before resuming league duties against Shabana F.C. on March 21.

The result keeps Gor Mahia’s title charge on track, while Posta Rangers will feel they were just minutes away from pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the season.
