Nairobi, Kenya — The Football Kenya Federation, in partnership with the Esports Kenya Federation, has announced national qualifiers for the FIFAe World Cup 2026.
The tournament is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Phoenix Lounge, marking a key step in selecting Kenya’s representatives in the eFootball console category.
National Team Selection
Officials said the competition will serve as the main platform for identifying players to form the national esports team. A total of six players, forming three pairs, will be selected to represent the country in upcoming international competitions.
The selected players will compete in the FIFAe Nations League, which serves as a qualification pathway to the World Cup finals scheduled to be held in Riyadh later this year.
The Road Ahead
Following the Nairobi qualifiers, the team will proceed to continental play-ins set to begin on April 14, 2026. Organisers indicated that only a limited number of slots are available for African teams, raising the level of competition.
Participation and Registration
Registration for the qualifiers has been opened to Kenyan participants, with organisers expecting increased interest amid the growing popularity of esports in the country.
The national qualifiers will be followed by training camps aimed at preparing the selected players for international competition.
