The Joint Committee of the Cabinet convened at Harambee House Annex in Nairobi to review priority government programmes and consider administrative briefs ahead of full Cabinet ratification.
The meeting, which brought together senior government officials, focused on evaluating the performance of key development initiatives under the administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda. The session also followed recent high-level briefings led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on upcoming state directives, financial policy assessments, and cross-sector framework alignment.
According to officials familiar with the discussions, the committee conducted a detailed review of flagship projects, identifying progress made as well as implementation challenges affecting major infrastructural and social programmes.
A key outcome of the meeting was the consolidation of sector-specific policy briefs into structured recommendations to be forwarded for consideration by the full Cabinet. The recommendations are expected to inform immediate policy ratification and strengthen coordination across government departments.
The committee also handled delegated administrative business, with a focus on harmonising regulatory frameworks across state departments. Officials said the discussions aimed at improving inter-ministerial coordination and ensuring consistency in the execution of government programmes.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the executive to streamline decision-making processes and accelerate delivery of priority national projects.
Further Cabinet deliberations are expected once the consolidated reports are formally tabled for approval.
