The Jamii Imara Mashinani citizen engagement forum was held in Isiolo County, bringing together government officials, religious leaders and private sector partners to deliberate on service delivery and key development issues affecting local residents.
During the forum, participants received updates on ongoing and upcoming development projects in the county, while residents were given an opportunity to share views and propose ways to improve access to government services at the grassroots level.
A major focus of discussion centred on the Social Health Authority framework, particularly registration, member contributions and access to healthcare services. Youth employment also featured prominently, with guidance provided by the National Employment Authority and the National Industrial Training Authority on job opportunities, placement and skills training pathways.
Community members raised concerns over land matters, water access, environmental services and the need to upgrade health facilities. They stressed the importance of a reliable supply of essential medicines through the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority.
Other institutions represented included the Kenya Film Classification Board, the Kenya Veterinary Board, Kenya Industrial Estates, and the Water Sector Trust Fund.
The forum was attended by the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, alongside Isiolo County leaders, including Aden Noor and representatives from the Water Sector Trust Fund.
The engagement underscored the Government’s Whole-of-Government approach, aimed at strengthening collaboration across institutions, improving coordination and ensuring that essential services are delivered effectively to communities at the grassroots level.
