Dr. Ida Betty Odinga on Friday appeared before the National Assembly’s Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee for vetting ahead of her appointment as Kenya’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The vetting session was chaired by Nelson Koech, with Dr. Odinga outlining her qualifications, vision, and commitment to environmental protection if approved.
During the session, Dr. Odinga disclosed that her net worth stands at approximately Sh500 million, saying she has the passion, skills, knowledge, and experience required for the role. She pledged to champion environmental conservation initiatives, including the “Stop Killing Our Environment” movement.
