Players and technical staff from Gor Mahia FC on Thursday presented their 2025/2026 FKF Premier League trophy to John Mbadi during a courtesy visit to the National Treasury offices in Nairobi.

The delegation, comprising club officials, members of the technical bench, and players, showcased the league trophy following a successful campaign that saw the club secure yet another domestic title and cement its place as Kenya’s most successful football team.

The visit comes days after K’Ogalo clinched their historic 22nd league crown, extending their dominance in Kenyan football. The title was secured with two matches to spare, underlining the club’s consistency throughout the season and strengthening its position at the summit of the FKF Premier League.

During the visit, the team briefed the Cabinet Secretary on their successful season and shared their ambitions for continental competition after earning the right to represent Kenya in the next edition of the CAF Champions League.

The presentation to Mbadi forms part of a broader trophy tour by the newly crowned champions. Earlier in the week, the club presented the trophy to their patron, Eliud Owalo, who congratulated the team on its achievement and rewarded the squad with KSh1 million in recognition of their success.

The latest league triumph further enhances Gor Mahia’s legacy as the most decorated football club in the country, having dominated the domestic game for decades and consistently produced performances that have earned them a large following across Kenya and the wider East African region.

Club officials expressed optimism about the team’s prospects on the continental stage, noting that preparations are already underway for the CAF Champions League campaign. The club hopes to build on its domestic success and make a strong impression against some of Africa’s top teams.

Football analysts have described the league victory as another significant milestone for Gor Mahia, particularly at a time when Kenyan clubs are seeking to raise their competitiveness in continental tournaments.

With the domestic season now concluded, attention will shift to recruitment, squad strengthening, and preparations for the demanding CAF Champions League schedule. Supporters will be hoping the league champions can translate their local dominance into success on the African stage.

The trophy presentation at the Treasury capped another celebratory week for the club as players and officials continue to receive recognition from government leaders, sponsors, and supporters following a memorable title-winning campaign.
