Gachagua: “I Told the President Gen Z Youth Blood Will Tear the Government Apart”

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made serious allegations against President William Ruto, claiming he had warned early on about the dangers of using force against Gen Z youths, but his advice was ignored.

Speaking in an interview with Kalenjin Media journalists, Gachagua said their differences began after he spoke candidly to the President about the political and security situation in the country.

“I told the President that the blood of Gen Z youths would bring him trouble and tear the government apart, but he did not want to listen to me,” Gachagua said.

He added that his stance led to a personal political conflict, with some people alleging that he wanted to overthrow the government.

“I did not want the youths to be killed. I told the truth, and when they saw I was speaking the truth and the President did not want the truth, they decided to expel me,” he said.

Gachagua also claimed that he had advised the President about the people around him, saying some of them lacked understanding of government operations.

“The President placed people who had no understanding of government close to him. I warned him, but he did not listen to me,” he said.

Furthermore, the former Deputy President alleged that since leaving office, he has faced personal challenges, including being denied his entitlements.

“The President took everything from me. Even now, since leaving office, I have not received my salary. Even the cows I was given by the Kalenjin were taken,” he claimed.

These remarks come amid ongoing debates over the political direction of the country and the government’s handling of protests by Gen Z youths.
